The Desolate Planet (Prototype)

‘The Desolate Planet’ is a Sci-Fi Action/Adventure game. The narrative follows a commander and her crew as they fight for their lives after landing on a planet that was thought to be desolate. In hopes of saving her crew mates, the commander has to journey through various climates and battlefields, but this means putting one thing at stake… her great grandfathers legacy.
The demo, video and photos that are available only reveal a snippet of what I had in mind for this game. My aim for this prototype was showcase the main character mechanic: the teleportation mechanic. This feature would be required for players to reach specific areas/locations that posses particular assets (eg. collectibles) - which are essential for player progression. An example of how this mechanic is used can be seen in the media attached; players will have to use the teleportation ability to collect all of the cables, otherwise the level cannot be completed.
Weapons and AI have also been implemented into this gaming prototype and will contribute to the difficulty of the game. Although they are not essential for player progression, they still play a significant part in the overall experience for the player.
