‘Peaks Grove’ is a project I constructed during my final year at university.
As I dedicated my first semester of the third year to video game character design, I thought it would only be fitting to design and construct a level to accompany my newly modelled character within my second semester.

My initial aim for this project was to establish an Action/Adventure game environment that would immerse video game players – specifically aged 18-30 years. After much contemplation, I eventually settled on creating a winter forest/woods environment; which would contain typical components such as: trees, huts, campfires etc. This third person game would enable players to follow the main protagonist on a quest to save his kingdom.
The plot of this game would require the main protagonist to visit multiple villages (and their accompanying villagers), by travelling across an open world map to discuss what induced this disaster and what could be done to stop it. Along the way, the player will have the ability to collect ingredients – such as plants and and food; which the main protagonist can use to forge various potions to help progress throughout the game.

Although this project was primarily based on visuals, rather than actual gameplay. It still allowed me to learn the basic tools and techniques of Unreal Engine. Eventually, I was able to develop those skills to produce more advanced and engaging projects, such as: The Desolate Planet and Toy Force.
